The mission is discipleship. Water treatment and baseball are the avenues. Battleground WTS is discipleship through labor. Battleground Baseball is discipleship through sport. Our own work funds all of it, so donations don’t have to.

Why We Exist
Boys become men by being trained, not told.
Boys don’t become men of character by being told to have it. They become men of character by being trained. Training puts them in situations that demand discipline, humility, and teamwork, with someone standing over their shoulder who cares enough to correct them.
That’s the idea behind the name Battleground. It comes from Ephesians 6: “Put on the full armor of God… Stand firm.” We don’t think that’s a metaphor. We think it’s a description.

What Battleground Ministries Actually Is

I learned so much about water treatment and testing that I had a lot of confidence once we were done. I felt that I was better prepared for the next step in my career.”

How This Actually Works
Funded by real work. Not fundraising.
Doug Moore has spent 32+ years in commercial water treatment. He left a stable career in 2021 over a matter of conscience, and built Battleground WTS so its revenue could fund this ministry without depending on donations. The jobsite is where discipleship through labor actually happens, one young man at a time.
Trenton Harris met Doug by chance. He was the driver who picked Doug up the day Doug turned in his company car. After a year of training, he went to work at Dow Chemical. He’s still there today.
The ministry started around baseball and has grown beyond it. Before the program went quiet, Battleground Baseball ran with dozens of volunteer coaches, discipleship over trophies, and one rule that never changed: no games on Sunday, because church comes first.
